Yesterday my son did not have school. I planned the fun sensory activity of finger painting. He did enjoy it. He wanted all 8 pots opened. I thought this would cause him to mix them all together. Instead, he lined them up, counted them, named the colors and touched the lids down the row.
It's interesting how a child with autism sees the whole picture. We tend to think that they are missing something because they weren't doing the activity we presented to them. My son filled in many things you can do with the paint pots besides take the paint out of them.
Autistic people are amazing and I love how much autism has changed the way I view things.
